CHEP is the lead company of the Dubai Chamber Sustainability Network Task Force on sustainable supply chain and as a part of it , the Dubai Sustainable Supply Chain Forum (DSSCF) was launched in October 2016 in partnership with Dubai Chamber’s Centre for Responsible Business. CHEP has been providing ongoing support to forum members by sharing best practices and facilitating collaboration projects.
The forum is modelled on best practices from the Efficient Consumer Response (ECR) and the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA). The forum aims to promote sustainable collaboration across the supply chain; advocate for changes in local policies and regulation; reduce carbon footprint; and implement measurable sustainability KPIs to ensure increased efficiency throughout the local supply chain industry.
The Dubai Chamber Sustainability Network, a promoter of industry excellence in sustainability, is the most relevant and valuable platform for senior supply chain executives to enhance the strategic impact of their supply chain systems and processes. The Network provides an ideal environment in which industry leaders can discuss, important issues and challenges facing supply chain companies.
In partnership with CHEP the Sustainability Network has hosted workshops and seminars which bring key stakeholders together to collaborate on matters such as: Transport Collaboration & Vehicle Turnaround Time; Unit Load Standards & Vehicle Fill Rate; and Transportation of Food & Non-Food categories, among other issues.
Dr. Belaid Rettab, Senior Director of the Economic Research & Sustainable Business Development Sector at Dubai Chamber said: “The Chamber’s Centre for Responsible Business has a long history of working with CHEP on the Dubai Chamber Sustainability Network and the Dubai Sustainable Supply Chain Forum, which has encouraged the adoption of more responsible practices within the industry. The forum has highlighted important issues facing supply chain companies, while it also complements Dubai Chamber’s efforts to raise sustainability standards within the local business community and support the Emirate’s transition to a green economy.”
