CHEP is proud to be part of the celebrations to acknowledge Landcare’s 30 year anniversary in Australia
Landcare has played a leading role in changing Australia’s approach to sustainable agricultural practices, environmental protection, land and water conservation, biodiversity and landscape restoration whilst connecting communities.
As part of Landcare Week and CHEP’s partnership with Landcare Australia, invitees from CHEP Australia attended Landcare’s 30th anniversary celebration at Curl Curl Beach.
The event was hosted by Dr Shane Norrish Chief Executive Officer of Landcare Australia; Ms Zali Steggall OAM MP, Member for Warringah; Councillor Michael Regan, Mayor of Warringah; and Sophie Taylor-Price, Landcare 30-year anniversary ambassador and granddaughter to the late Bob Hawke.
During the day we worked together to plant approximately 2000 native plants to help restore bare areas in the sand dunes, where the vegetation is an important factor in protecting the flora and fauna from the impacts of coastal erosion.
As part of CHEP’s Better Communities and Better Planet Initiatives, CHEP supports Landcare through several initiatives including its corporate volunteering program where they rely on volunteers across Australia to care for the local environment.
