Vanessa Stark

Managing Director

Vanessa Stark, originally from South Africa, is not a new face for CHEP. She has been working for CHEP Automotive in Cologne since 2012. First in customer service, then in sales and then as Strategic Marketing Manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa. Before joining CHEP, Stark was also active at BMW and supply chain company UTi Worldwide.

“From the moment I joined CHEP in 2012 I was hooked. It is a company that embraces a culture of diversity and encourages us all to dare to become more than we think we are. My initial start at CHEP was in the Automotive division in Germany and over the years I worked in different departments and levels. In May 2019 I took on a brand new challenge to lead the CHEP Benelux Pallet Business and I moved my home and work base to Belgium. I was extremely impressed with this fantastic business and high caliber of people who have embraced me. I feel privileged to be part of such a great team who work so well together in name of serving our customers in the best way possible. As the invisible backbone of the global supply chain, we are in a challenging and relevant business which makes it very interesting every day. The fact that our business model is inherently sustainable, is for me still a big motivator to keep coming to work. And I do love coming to work.”

Emmanuel VEYS

Emmanuel Veys

Commercial Country Leader Belgium & Luxemburg

Emmanuel gained his first working experience in the financial world as a Project Consultant. In 2011, he joined the CHEP family as an account manager in the Belgian retail team. After two years he moved to the sales team. In 2017, however, he returned to the retail department, managing the team of account managers. In 2019, he took charge of the sales team, but today, he had passed on this torch to one of his colleagues and since July 2020, has been taking care of the full commercial part of Belgium.

"From day one, I felt like I was part of a close CHEP family; a young and dynamic team. Although CHEP Benelux is part of a multinational company, we have an intimate SME atmosphere. A pallet as such is not exactly a sexy product, but the dynamics of our pooling model make it a very interesting and tangible business. Every day we work on customer-focused solutions with the aim of improving the end-to-end supply chain. Innovation comes first. And the sustainable nature of the circular pooling model gives me an extra motivation to further expand our business every day".

Patrick Van Daele

Commercial Country Leader The Netherlands

Patrick Van Daele started his career at a family business in transport, but in 1998 he took up a new challenge at CHEP in the logistics department. For 18 years he held various positions: from transport planner, European positions to logistics manager for the Benelux. Afterwards he moved into commercial positions with a focus on Store Solutions and Collaborative Transport Solutions. Since 1 July 2020 he is Commercial Country Leader for the Netherlands.

"I was looking for a company with growth opportunities, both personally and professionally. CHEP turned out to be the perfect match: an international company with growth opportunities and the necessary support, but at the same time with the cosy and open atmosphere of an SME. Thanks to international and multidisciplinary projects, you often encounter people from different countries and departments. Everyone is ready to work together, to help each other and is accessible. Regardless of your position in the company. That's very important to me and makes it a pleasure to work here.”

In 2020, he took on the role of Transformation & Innovation Leader Benelux and since then he has been contributing to a future-oriented business based on technology and innovative solutions.

"At the time I chose CHEP because of its sustainable business model and the enormous ambition and drive of the people in everything they do. There are several opportunities to develop yourself in our global organisation. From my experience I realise that thanks to our global 'share and reuse model' we have a unique place in often complex supply chains and offer our customers fantastic added value. It satisfies me every day to work on the development of our services, so we can support our customers more and better in the future. Both literally and figuratively!”

Thus, his next step at CHEP as Senior Supply Chain Manager does not come as a surprise.

"From the first moment I started working here, I felt the passion and professionality of the colleagues, who work together across divisions. Next to that CHEP gives its employees chances to develop and to build up an inspiring career. That completely corresponds with our mission of building better supply chains together."

Bert joined CHEP in 2018 as Sr. Financial Analyst and promoted early 2019 to Finance Business Partner. Before he worked in different analytic Finance functions within the metal industry and logistics. As from his early career, he got triggered by comprehending the company’s product or service behind the numbers and graphs.

“As from the first day, I felt the professional drive of my colleagues. A passion to sustain and strengthen our current solutions and on top of this expand our product and service offers, at all times remaining customer-focused. In my opinion, one important power of CHEP is the extensive experience of many employees which enables us to look for customer centric solutions in a dynamic and fast-moving environment. The sharing of this year-on-year built up knowledge pushes CHEP’s performance to higher levels.”

Kim Laureyssens
Kim Laureyssens

HR Manager

Kim started in 2018 as HR manager at CHEP Benelux. She brought with her more than 15 years of international experience, mainly in the field of change management, project management, union and employee relations. With her creative mind and practical attitude, she always seeks the right balance between the objectives of the business and the expectations of the employees.

"What really appeals to me about CHEP is the feeling of working at a small business, while we actually are a global organisation. Nobody here is considered a 'number', everyone counts and has a specific task, which can only be successful if we work together. One of the statements I always keep in mind is: ‘Nothing we do is more important than hiring and developing people. At the end of the day, you bet on people, not on strategies.’ The sustainability aspect attracted me as well. It's nice to know that your work not only has a positive impact on the business itself, but also on the environment".
