The supply chain solutions company will provide logistics support, knowledge and in-kind contributions for three more years
London, 12 November 2019 – Brambles, the supply chain solutions company, has agreed to renew its support of the European Food Banks Federation (FEBA) and its network. The partnership between Brambles and FEBA began in 2016, when the two companies started to work together to alleviate hunger and reduce poverty, malnutrition and food waste across Europe.
Through the renewal of a three-year partnership, Brambles will continue to provide supply chain knowledge, in-kind contributions such as training, and voluntary consultancy in safety, logistics and warehouse management as well as donations to help finance FEBA’s operations.
Brambles’ company CHEP also provides their pallets to assist the activities of Food Banks, with pallets considered vital to daily operations and to maximize the efficiency of food distribution.
“Our support of FEBA has included the coordination of volunteers and the supply of our pallets to move goods to the Food Banks, which is work that goes unnoticed but is essential in food collection” declared Geraint Thomas, European Sustainability Director of Brambles. “We are happy to continue our collaboration with institutions like FEBA, which share the same social mission: to create a better planet and better communities”.
Jacques Vandenschrik, President of the European Food Banks Federation, said “We would like to thank Brambles for their commitment to reducing hunger while also preventing food waste and advancing sustainability. We are honoured to partner with Brambles to leverage its knowledge and expertise to help drive efficiency and scale in Food Banks in Europe. Their competence is an essential asset for the future of our organization”.
