Case Study: European Federation of Food Banks

European Federation of Food Banks

CHEP has agreed to give cash donations and in-kind contributions to the European Federation of Food Banks to help it open new food banks across the continent.

CHEP is pleased to announce the signing of an agreement with the European Federation of Food Banks (FEBA). The agreement is to provide funding, volunteer support and the use of CHEP pallets to assist FEBA’s charitable operations across Europe.

In partnership with FEBA, CHEP has agreed to provide funding and in-kind contributions to help deliver millions of meals to almost 6 million disadvantaged people, via 257 food banks in Europe. CHEP will engage with customers in the supply chain across the region to collaborate with the food banks and participate in European events organised by FEBA.

As our ambassadors, we hope CHEP can influence their thousands of customers in Europe to help spread the word and reduce food waste through increased collaboration. Sharing their volunteers, use of equipment and know-how can truly have a positive impact in our activity.

Isabel Jonet President of FEBA

In Europe, CHEP has previously undertaken projects and pilot programmes with food banks, notably in Italy, Spain and the UK. The food banks already use many CHEP products and find them crucial to the efficient operation and distribution of their food donations.
