Sydney, Australia, September 27, 2017 - Brambles, the world's leading supplier of Supply Chain logistics solutions, present in more than 60 countries through CHEP and IFCO, has been named the leader in the Commercial Services and Supplies category, according to the 2017 Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI).
The solutions and the sustainable business model Brambles are based on over 590 million pallets, containers and other transport units reused jointly by companies that collaborate across the global logistics chain.
The Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) is the most prestigious global ranking where sustainable companies are evaluated on the basis of RobecoSAM analysis (based on the financial impact of corporate, corporate, corporate and corporate governance factors) and the S & P Dow Jones.
DJSI annually evaluates 2,400 of the largest companies included in the S & P Global Broad Market Index to identify the most sustainable (top 10%) of each industry.
In 2016, Brambles achieved the second highest score in the industry. In 2017, the company has seen performance growth in key areas such as customer relationship management, social and environmental reporting, corporate governance, and the code of conduct.

Brambles objectives in the sustainability area in the financial year 2017:
• Save over 2.5 million tons of CO2, 1.4 million tons of waste and 1.6 million trees through the circular business model;
• Achieving 99.1% of certified timber sources globally, bringing Brambles closer to its target by 2020 (100% sustainable wood);
• Use of human resources and logistical experience for the benefit of over 100 food banks around the world;
• Continue to support more than 200 customers who run collaborative shipping projects globally to reduce Supply Chain costs and meet the specific sustainability commitments of these companies.
Brambles's sustainability approach helped position the company as a leader in logistics chain sustainability, recognized not only by customers, employees and investors, but also by the United Nations Global Compact, the largest corporate sustainability initiative in the world.
