Logitrans is the number one business platform in the Eurasia region for logistics and supply chain solutions, and in November 2017 we took part in its 11th annual International Logitrans Transport Logistics Fair. Opportunities and Threats of the New Silk Road Project, Solar Energy and Electricity Storage, Industry 4.0: The Need For Standardization in the Global Supply Chain and New Technologies were topics discussed at the fair, and it provided us with an opportunity to discuss innovative ideas and suggestions with the key companies and managers in the sector.
In the forum Industry 4.0: The Need For Standardization in the Global Supply Chain and New Technologies at the International Logitrans Transport Logistics Fair, CHEP Turkey and North Africa Managing Director Şafak Aktekin discussed technological developments and the increasing importance of digitalization. He also explained the key role played by digital developments, which have had a huge effect on the operational side of the supply chain, in ensuring that sustainability is achieved, and spoke of CHEP’s investment in digital solutions through BXB Digital, which transcends traditional boundaries to provide product visibility throughout the supply chain.
Additionally, the forum highlighted the interaction between human and machine, which will be achieved through future digitization, sensors and robots, one of the key points of the Industry 4.0 projects. It has been mentioned that the emergence of a successful Industry 4.0 project will play an important role in simplifying the complexity of the associated IT systems with the need for standardized infrastructure and data units in the supply chain both internally and internationally.
