From January 1st, 2021, the UK became a “third country” to the EU. Therefore, it is now a legal requirement for all wood packaging material moving in both directions between UK and the EU to be compliant with International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM15). This is a global regulation intended to prevent the spread of plant diseases and pests through wooden packaging materials by requiring them to be heat-treated (HT) and marked.
We have been working closely with National Plant Protection Organizations (NAPPOs who are the domestic custodians of ISPM15) such as TIMCOM and the Forestry Commission (in the UK) to ensure our processes are audited and compliant to the local ISPM15 guidelines.
We also have all the necessary processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in place at our EU and UK facilities in order to adequately segregate and generate ISPM15 compliant pallets.
