Building a Sustainable World

CHEP’s business model is inherently sustainable. By using our pooled assets and sustainability solutions our customers’ supply chains become more efficient in terms of cost and use of natural resources. We help customers become part of the circular economy through our principles of share and reuse. The more our customers use our platforms, the greater the efficiencies.

At the same time, we strive to minimize our own impact on the environment and contribute positively to the communities we operate in. CHEP plays a major role in advancing the Brambles Group’s Sustainability strategy and achieving its 2020 Sustainability Goals, which are tied to the Sustainable Development Goals set out by the United Nations. All our Sustainability activities are built around our strategic framework of Better Business, Better Planet, Better Communities.

Collaboration projects
One type of Collaboration project we offer is Transport Collaboration, where we ‘close the loop’ to reduce empty miles.

Collaboration projects

The biggest Sustainability benefits can only be achieved by end-to-end collaboration across the entire supply chain. We work with you, your suppliers, your logistics partners, and others to find opportunities where cooperation can make your business more efficient. In 2015 CHEP was named Coca-Cola Enterprises’ (CCE) Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Supplier of the Year. We won this award for our continuous efforts to develop innovative and sustainable logistics solutions.

The customer benefited strongly from the successful collaboration projects it carried out with us. CHEP and CCE jointly developed an innovative new type of wheeled platform to meet CCE’s specific needs and make its supply chain more efficient. CCE also joined our collaborative transportation program, which removed three million kilometers of truck haulage from European roads and cut CCE’s carbon emissions by almost three metric tons.

Better Communities

At CHEP we are dedicated to giving back to the communities we operate in. This means that we give permanent employees three days of Volunteer Leave and also make monetary and in-kind donations to various charities and not-for-profit organizations.
