How does CHEP work?

CHEP’s circular business model is based on the concept of “share and reuse.” We call it pooling. With the CHEP pooling system, you get the pallets, IBCs and industrial containers you need from us on a rental basis. Sharing and reusing products makes them more sustainable; that’s why you can’t buy our pallets or containers.

We manage the administrative procedure, retrieval and quality assurance of the pallets and containers in a closed-loop system, allowing you to focus on your core business.

Pallet management made easier

CHEP will make sure enough high-quality pallets are available – wherever and whenever you need them.

  • Order the number of pallets you need via our online portal, myCHEP.
  • CHEP delivers them to your location within 72 hours, or you can schedule a pickup from one of our service centers in 48 hours.
  • You load the pallets with your products and send them to your customers. You inform CHEP that the goods have been shipped via myCHEP, our online portal.
  • CHEP takes care of the pallet pickup and return to our service center, where pallets are inspected and repaired if necessary.

    Request an obligation-free quote today. Complete the information on the quote request form. A CHEP representative will contact you via email or phone.

  • 2. Talk with CHEP

    We’ll work with you to customize a proposal based on your business needs, including shipment locations, volume and frequency.

    Our supply chain expertise and solutions will drive value and address your challenges.

  • 3. Place an order via our online portal

    As soon as we receive the signed contract agreement, we set up your access to our online portal myCHEP. You can then order CHEP pallets and containers.

How does full-service automotive and industrial container rental work?

Top OEM, Tier 1 and Tier 2 brands that rent CHEP reusable, collapsible shipping containers see significant freight savings, reduced capital expenditures and lower quality risks compared to one-way expendable packaging. Our large fleet can handle your short-term needs.

  • Order the number of containers & crates you need via our online portal, myCHEP.
  • CHEP delivers high quality containers to your supplier locations, within 5 business days. 
  • Suppliers fill the containers, ship the components to your manufacturing facility and update this information in myCHEP.
  • Once emptied and ready to be picked up, CHEP will arrange for container shipping back to the nearest CHEP facility, where the containers are inspected, cleaned and repaired if necessary.
